ওষুধটি ব্যাকটেরিয়ার কোষ প্রাচীর গঠন রোধ করে এবং বিটা-ল্যাকটামেজ এনজাইম প্রতিরোধী। ৬ মাস以上的 শিশু ও প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের জন্য প্রযোজ্য মাত্রা রোগের ধরন ও বয়সভেদে পরিবর্তিত হয়। আলো, আর্দ্রতা ও ৩০°C-এর বেশি তাপমাত্রা থেকে সংরক্ষণ আবশ্যক। সাধারণ পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়ার মধ্যে হালকা ডায়রিয়া বা বমিভাব অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

3-Geocef ব্যবহারের নিয়ম বা সেফিক্সিম ট্রাইহাড্রেট বিকল্প-এর মতো LSI কীওয়ার্ডগুলি এর চিকিৎসাগত গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে। কার্বামাজেপিন বা ওয়ারফেরিনের সাথে ব্যবহার এড়িয়ে চলুন। গর্ভাবস্থায় ব্যবহারের পূর্বে চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ নিন। অতিরিক্ত মাত্রা সেবনে গ্যাস্ট্রিক ল্যাভেজ প্রয়োজন হতে পারে।

Adults: 200-400 mg daily as single/divided doses. Pediatric dose: 8 mg/kg/day. Administer as oral suspension with/without food. Standard treatment duration 7 days, extendable up to 14 days.

3-Geocef is generally well tolerated. The majority of adverse reactions observed in clinical trials were mild and self limiting in nature. Gastrointestinal disturbances: The most frequent side-effects seen with 3-Geocef are diarrhoea and stool changes; diarrhoea has been more commonly associated with higher doses. Other gastrointestinal side-effects seen less frequently are nausea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, vomiting and flatulence. Pseudomembraneous colitis has been reported. Central nervous system: headache and dizziness. Hypersensitivity reactions: allergies in the form of rash, pruritis, urticaria, drug fever and arthralgia have been observed. These reactions usually subsided upon discontinuation of therapy. Hematological and clinical chemistry: thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and eosinophilia have been reported. These reactions were infrequent and reversible. Mild transient change in liver and renal function tests have been observed. Miscellaneous: other possible reactions include genital pruritis and vaginitis.

Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Lactation safety not established.

Exercise caution in colitis patients. Reduce dose if creatinine clearance <20 mL/min.

Not recommended for infants <6 months. No specific dosage adjustment required in elderly or hepatic impairment.

Gastric Lavage may be indicated; otherwise, no specific antidote exists. 3-Geocef is not removed in significant quantities from the circulation by hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. Adverse reactions in small numbers of healthy adult volunteers receiving single doses up to 2 g of 3-Geocef did not differ from the profile seen in patients treated at the recommended doses.
