৩-জিওসেফ ক্যাপসুল হল সেফিক্সিম ট্রাইহাড্রেট ২০০ মিঃগ্রাঃ সমৃদ্ধ একটি শক্তিশালী তৃতীয় প্রজন্মের সেফালোস্পোরিন অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক। হলমার্ক ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড প্রস্তুতকৃত এই ক্যাপসুল-এর ইউনিট মূল্য ৳৩০.০০ (১২ টির প্যাক: ৳৩৬০.০০)। সংরক্ষণে ৩০°C তাপমাত্রার নিচে রাখুন এবং আলো/আদ্রতা থেকে দূরে রাখুন।

ব্যাকটেরিয়ার কোষ প্রাচীর গঠনে বাধা দিয়ে এটি কাজ করে। বিটা-ল্যাকটামেজ এনজাইম প্রতিরোধী হওয়ায় অন্যান্য অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক-অকার্যকর জীবাণুর বিরুদ্ধেও কার্যকর। ওষুধটি খাদ্য গ্রহণের সাথে সম্পর্ক ছাড়াই ৪০-৫০% শোষিত হয়।

প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের জন্য ২০০-৪০০ মিঃগ্রাঃ/দিন মাত্রায় প্রযোজ্য। শিশুদের বয়সানুপাতে ৭৫-৩০০ মিঃগ্রাঃ দেওয়া হয়। কার্বামাজেপিন বা ওয়ারফেরিন সেবনে সতর্কতা আবশ্যক। ডায়রিয়া সাধারণ পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া যা বন্ধ করলে ঠিক হয়।

গর্ভাবস্থায় ব্যবহারে সীমিত তথ্য থাকায় চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ জরুরি। অতিরিক্ত মাত্রায় সেবনে গ্যাস্ট্রিক ল্যাভেজ প্রয়োজন হতে পারে। বিকল্প হিসেবে ৩-জিওসেফ ১০০ মিঃগ্রাঃ/৫ মিঃলিঃ সাসপেনশন পাওয়া যায়।

Adults: 200-400mg daily in 1-2 doses. Pediatric dose: 8mg/kg/day. Renal impairment (CrCl <20 mL/min): Max 200mg/day. Administer with/without food. Treatment duration typically 7-14 days.

3-Geocef is generally well tolerated. The majority of adverse reactions observed in clinical trials were mild and self limiting in nature. Gastrointestinal disturbances: The most frequent side-effects seen with 3-Geocef are diarrhoea and stool changes; diarrhoea has been more commonly associated with higher doses. Other gastrointestinal side-effects seen less frequently are nausea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, vomiting and flatulence. Pseudomembraneous colitis has been reported. Central nervous system: headache and dizziness. Hypersensitivity reactions: allergies in the form of rash, pruritis, urticaria, drug fever and arthralgia have been observed. These reactions usually subsided upon discontinuation of therapy. Hematological and clinical chemistry: thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and eosinophilia have been reported. These reactions were infrequent and reversible. Mild transient change in liver and renal function tests have been observed. Miscellaneous: other possible reactions include genital pruritis and vaginitis.

Pregnancy Category B. Use caution during lactation – excretion in breast milk unknown.

Monitor renal function in impairment. Use cautiously in colitis history. Hepatic enzymes monitoring recommended during prolonged therapy.

No geriatric dose adjustment needed. Not approved for infants <6 months. Hepatic impairment requires no specific dosage changes.

Gastric Lavage may be indicated; otherwise, no specific antidote exists. 3-Geocef is not removed in significant quantities from the circulation by hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. Adverse reactions in small numbers of healthy adult volunteers receiving single doses up to 2 g of 3-Geocef did not differ from the profile seen in patients treated at the recommended doses.
