খাবারের সাথে সেবনে ফসফেট বাইন্ডিং কার্যকর হয়। অতিরিক্ত মাত্রায় কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য বা কিডনি রোগীদের হাইপারক্যালসেমিয়া দেখা দিতে পারে। ডিজোক্সিন বা টেট্রাসাইক্লিনের সাথে সতর্কতা প্রয়োজন। এসিএমই ল্যাবরেটরিজের গুণগত মান এটিকে ক্যালসিয়াম কার্বোনেট বিকল্পগুলোর মধ্যে জনপ্রিয় করে তুলেছে।

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1-4 tablets (500-2000 mg) daily. Renal patients: 2.5-9 gm/day with meals. Pregnancy: 1200-1500 mg/day. Take tablets with water, preferably after meals.

Side Effects

Orally administered A-Cal may be irritating to the GI tract. It may also cause constipation. Hypercalcaemia is rarely produced by administration of calcium alone, but may occur when large doses are given to patients with chronic renal failure.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category A. Safe during lactation. Recommended dose: 1200-1500 mg/day.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor serum calcium/phosphate with prolonged use. Consult doctor if constipation occurs in elderly. Use as directed by ACME Laboratories.

Use in Special Populations

Pediatric: Safe in renal disease. Geriatric: Constipation risk. Adjust dose in renal/hepatic impairment.
