Dosage & Administration

Adults: 50,000-100,000 IU daily. Children (1+ years): 200,000 IU on days 1, 2 & 14 for night blindness. Measles: 200,000 IU for 2 days. Administer capsule whole with water.

Side Effects

A-Forte intoxication includes irritability, vomiting, loss of appetite, headache, dry and pruritic skin, skin desquamation, fatique, pain in ankles and feet, myalgia, loss of body hair, papilledema, nystagmus, liver sclerosis and cirrhosis.

Pregnancy & Lactation

High doses teratogenic in pregnancy. Lactation: 5,000 IU/day safe. Monitor dietary vitamin A intake.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor liver enzymes during prolonged use. Avoid exceeding doses from Globe Pharmaceuticals. Ensure contraception in women.

Use in Special Populations

Pediatric dosing requires weight adjustment. Hepatic impairment necessitates dose reduction. Monitor renal function in elderly.
