এ-টেট্রা ক্যাপসুল, এসিএমই ল্যাবরেটরিজ লিমিটেড প্রস্তুতকৃত, প্রতিটিতে ৫০০ মিগ্রা টেট্রাসাইক্লিন হাইড্রোক্লোরাইড সমৃদ্ধ একটি অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক। এটি শ্বাসতন্ত্র, ত্বকের সংক্রমণ, যৌনবাহিত রোগসহ নানান ইনফেকশনে ব্যবহৃত হয়। প্রতি ক্যাপসুলের মূল্য ৳৩.৩৯, স্ট্রিপ মূল্য ৳৩৩.৯০ এবং ১০০ ক্যাপসুলের প্যাক ৳৩৩৯.০০।

শীতল ও শুষ্ক স্থানে সংরক্ষণযোগ্য এ-টেট্রা ব্যাকটেরিয়ার প্রোটিন সংশ্লেষণ বাধা দেয়। ক্ল্যামাইডিয়া, মাইকোপ্লাজমা, রিকেটসিয়ার বিরুদ্ধে কার্যকর। বয়স্ক রোগীদের ক্ষেত্রে সতর্কতার সাথে মাত্রা নির্ধারণ প্রয়োজন। ডোজ: প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের জন্য ২৫০–৫০০ মিগ্রা ৬ ঘণ্টা পরপর, ব্রুসেলোসিস বা একজিমার ক্ষেত্রে ভিন্ন।

গর্ভাবস্থা, স্তন্যদান ও ১২ বছরের কম বয়সে নিষিদ্ধ। পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়ায় গ্যাস্ট্রোইনটেস্টাইনাল সমস্যা, অ্যালার্জি দেখা দিতে পারে। অ্যান্টাসিড বা পেনিসিলিনের সাথে বিক্রিয়া হলে কার্যকারিতা হ্রাস পায়। চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী ব্যবহার অপরিহার্য।

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 250-500 mg every 6 hours on empty stomach. Brucellosis: 500 mg 6-hourly for 3 weeks. Renal impairment requires dose reduction. Contraindicated below 12 years. Continue therapy 3 days post-symptom resolution.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal disturbances e.g. glossitis, stomatitis, vaginitis or staphylococcal enterocolitis. Photosensitivity and dermatological reactions are rare. Bulging fontanelles in infants and benign intracranial hypertension in adults has been reported. Treatment should be ceased if intracranial pressure raises. Hypersensitivity reactions include purpura, pericarditis, angioneurotic oedema, anaphylaxis, anaphylactoid purpura, and exacerbation of systemic lupus erythematosus may occur. Haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia end eosinophilia have been reported.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category D: Fetal tooth discoloration and bone growth inhibition. Breastfeeding contraindicated due to infant dental discoloration risk. Maximum 1 gm/day if essential during pregnancy.

Precautions & Warnings

Separate administration from antacids/iron by 3 hours. Monitor prothrombin time. Photosensitivity precautions advised. Regular renal/hepatic function tests during prolonged therapy.

Use in Special Populations

Geriatric patients require renal function assessment. Hepatic impairment necessitates caution. Pediatric dose (25-50 mg/kg) only for ≥12 years. Renal dosing: CrCl <50 ml/min requires 50% dose reduction.
