AB-DS চিউওয়েবল ট্যাবলেট হল ৪০০ মি.গ্রা. এ্যালবেনডাজল সমৃদ্ধ একটি কৃমিনাশক ঔষধ, যা প্রাইম ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেড দ্বারা উৎপাদিত। চিবানো ট্যাবলেট হিসেবে প্রস্তুত এই ঔষধটি অন্ত্রীয় ও সিস্টেমিক পরজীবী সংক্রমণের চিকিৎসায় ব্যবহারযোগ্য। প্রতি ইউনিট ৳৩.০০ মূল্যের এ ঔষধ সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যে কৃমির চিকিৎসা নিশ্চিত করে।

পরজীবীর গ্লুকোজ শোষণে বাধা দিয়ে এ্যালবেনডাজল শক্তি উৎপাদন ব্যাহত করে। এটি ডিম্বাণু, লার্ভা ও পরিণত কৃমি ধ্বংস করে। হুকওয়ার্ম, গোলকৃমি, ফিতাকৃমি, হাইডাটিড রোগসহ ৮ ধরনের ইনফেস্টেশনে কার্যকর। ঔষধটি যকৃতে বিপাক হয়ে সালফোক্সাইডে রূপান্তরিত হয় যা ৮.৫ ঘণ্টা অর্ধায়ু সম্পন্ন।

বয়স ও রোগের ধরন অনুযায়ী মাত্রা ভিন্ন। প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের জন্য সাধারণ কৃমিতে ৪০০ মি.গ্রা. একক ডোজ, ১-২ বছর বয়সী শিশুর জন্য ২০০ মি.গ্রা.। হাইডাটিড রোগে ওজনভিত্তিক ডোজ (১৫ মি.গ্রা./কেজি) দেওয়া হয়। চিউওয়েবল ট্যাবলেট শিশুদের জন্য সহজলভ্য তবে ১ বছরের নিচে নিষিদ্ধ।

পাকস্থলীর গোলযোগ, মাথাব্যথা, যকৃতের এনজাইম বৃদ্ধি সাধারণ পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া। গর্ভাবস্থায় সতর্কতার সাথে ব্যবহার করতে হবে। ঔষধটি শুষ্ক স্থানে শিশুদের নাগালের বাইরে রাখুন। জটিল ক্ষেত্রে ২৮ দিনের কোর্স পুনরাবৃত্তি করা যেতে পারে।

Dosage & Administration

Adults & children 2+: 400mg single dose. Hydatid disease: 400mg twice daily for 28 days (>60kg). Chew or swallow whole with water. 1-2 years: 200mg single dose. Contraindicated in pregnancy.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, changes in liver enzymes, rarely reversible alopecia; rash, fever, blood disorders including leucopenia and pancytopenia reported; allergic shock if cyst leakage; convulsion and meningism in cerebral disease.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category C. Avoid during lactation. Discontinue breastfeeding for 3 days post-treatment. Embryotoxic in animal studies.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor liver function and blood counts pre/post-treatment. Continuous medical supervision required for neurocysticercosis. Retest stool samples after 3 weeks.

Use in Special Populations

No dosage adjustment in elderly. Hepatic impairment requires dose reduction. Pediatric dosing based on age-weight. Safety not established in renal failure.
