আবাক ক্যাপসুল, সেফরাডিন ৫০০ মিগ্রা সমৃদ্ধ, কেমিস্ট ল্যাবরেটরিজ লিমিটেড প্রস্তুতকারক একটি প্রথম প্রজন্মের সেফালোস্পোরিন অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক। এই ক্যাপসুল শ্বাসতন্ত্র, মূত্রতন্ত্র ও ত্বকের সংক্রমণে কার্যকর। ইউনিট মূল্য ৳১২.৫০ সহ সাশ্রয়ী প্যাক বিকল্প (১০×৪ ক্যাপসুল ৳৫০০) উপলব্ধ।

ওষুধটি ব্যাক্টেরিয়ার কোষ প্রাচীর গঠন বাধাগ্রস্ত করে কাজ করে, বিশেষত পেনিসিলিনেজ উৎপাদনকারী জীবাণুর বিরুদ্ধে। সাইনুসাইটিস, নিউমোনিয়া, মূত্রনালীর সংক্রমণ ও ফোঁড়ায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। ডোজ নির্ধারিত হয় সংক্রমণের তীব্রতা ও স্থান অনুযায়ী।

সংরক্ষণে সতর্কতা আবশ্যক: রিকনস্টিটিউটেড সাসপেনশন কক্ষ তাপমাত্রায় ৭ দিন বা ফ্রিজে ১৪ দিন ব্যবহারযোগ্য। পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়ার মধ্যে পাতলা পায়খানা, চুলকানি ও রক্তের সমস্যা দেখা দিতে পারে। পেনিসিলিন অ্যালার্জির ইতিহাস থাকলে সতর্কতা প্রয়োজন।

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 250-500 mg every 6 hours. Children: 25-50 mg/kg/day in 4 divided doses. Renal adjustment: CrCl 5-20 ml/min requires 250 mg every 12 hours. Treatment duration: Continue for 48-72 hours after symptom resolution.

Side Effects

Limited essentially to gastro-intestinal disturbances and on occasions to hypersensitivity phenomena. The latter are more likely to occur in individuals, who have previously demonstrated hypersensitivity and thos with a history of allergy, asthma, hay fever or urticaria. Skin reactions have occasionally been reported. Rare- Glossitis, heartburn, dizziness, tightness in the chest, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vaginitis, candida overgrowth. Skin and hypersensitivity reactions include urticaria, skin rashes, joint pains, oedema.

Blood and lymphatic system disorders- Unknown: blood disorders (including thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, agranulocytosis, aplastic anaemia and haemolytic anaemia)
Immune system disorders- Unknown: Fever, serum sickness like reactions, anaphylaxis
Psychiatric disorders- Unknown: Confusion, sleep disturbances
Nervous system disorders- Unknown: hyperactivity, hypertonia, dizziness, nervousness; Rarely: Headache
Hepatobiliary disorders- Frequency unknown: Liver, enzyme disturbances, transient hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice
Renal and urinary disorders- Unknown: Reversible interstitial nephritis
Investigations- Unknown: Elevation of blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, total bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category B (animal data shows safety). Lactation caution: Excreted in milk. May affect neonatal gut microbiome.

Precautions & Warnings

Requires dosage adjustment in CKD. Monitor for superinfection during prolonged use. Discontinue if pseudomembranous colitis suspected. Regular hematological monitoring advised.

Use in Special Populations

Pediatric: 75-100 mg/kg/day for otitis media. Geriatric: Monitor creatinine clearance. Hepatic impairment: No adjustment needed. Dialysis: 250 mg after each session.

Overdose Effects

The symptoms of Sefrad overdose are non-specific and are generally nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and gastric upsets. Treatment is mainly supportive although gastric lavage will be necessary if a large amount has been ingested.
