এবাক্লোর হলো সেফাক্লর মনোহাইড্রেট সমৃদ্ধ একটি অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক, যা এসিআই লিমিটেড প্রস্তুত করে। এই ক্যাপসুল আকারের ঔষধ নিউমোনিয়া, মূত্রনালীর সংক্রমণ এবং ত্বকের ইনফেকশনের চিকিৎসায় কার্যকর।

প্রতি ইউনিটের দাম ৳৪০.২৭, স্ট্রিপ মূল্য ৳২৪১.৬২ এবং ২x৬ প্যাকের মূল্য ৳৪৮৩.২৪। কক্ষ তাপমাত্রায় আলো থেকে দূরে সংরক্ষণ করতে হবে। সাসপেনশন প্রস্তুতের পর ৭ দিন (সাধারণ তাপমাত্রায়) বা ১৪ দিন (ফ্রিজে) ব্যবহারযোগ্য।

স্ট্রেপ্টোকক্কাস নিউমোনিয়া ও ই.কোলাই এর বিরুদ্ধে কার্যকর এবাক্লোর প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের ক্ষেত্রে ৮ ঘণ্টা পরপর ২৫০-৫০০ মিগ্রা ডোজে দেওয়া হয়। শিশুদের জন্য ওটাইটিস মিডিয়ায় ৪০ মিগ্রা/কেজি/দিন ডোজ সুপারিশ করা হয়।

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 250 mg every 8 hours. Severe infections may require 500 mg doses (max 4g/day). Children: 20-40 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. No dose adjustment needed in renal impairment except for dialysis patients. Treat streptococcal infections for minimum 10 days. Take capsules with water 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Side Effects

Gastro-intestinal symptoms may occur include diarrhea, nausea and vomiting in some patients receiving Abaclor. As with some penicillins and some other Cephalosporins, transient hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice have been reported rarely. Fever, abdominal pain, superinfection, renal dysfunction, toxic nephropathy, hemorrhage, elevated LDH and pancytopenia may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category B. Use only if clearly needed. Small amounts excreted in breast milk – caution advised during lactation.

Precautions & Warnings

Unnecessary use promotes antibiotic resistance. Monitor patients with colitis history. Shake suspension well before use. Conduct allergy testing before initiation.

Use in Special Populations

Pediatrics: Safe above 1 month age. Elderly: Monitor renal function. Renal impairment: Dose adjustment for dialysis patients. Hepatic impairment: No specific dose modification.

Overdose Effects

The toxic symptoms following an overdose of Abaclor may include nausea, vomiting, epigastric distress, and diarrhea.
