Abacten Tablet 500 mg

অ্যাবাক্টেন ট্যাবলেট হল এজিথ্রোমাইসিন ডাইহাইড্রেট ৫০০ মিগ্রা সমৃদ্ধ একটি ম্যাক্রোলাইড অ্যান্টিবায়োটিক, যা আর্জেস লাইফ সায়েন্স লিমিটেড দ্বারা উৎপাদিত। প্রতি ইউনিট মূল্য ৳৩৫.০০ এবং ২x৩ স্ট্রিপ প্যাক (মোট ৬ ট্যাবলেট) এর দাম ৳২১০.০০।

এই ট্যাবলেট ব্রংকাইটিস, নিউমোনিয়া, ত্বকের সংক্রমণ, ক্ল্যামাইডিয়া ও টাইফয়েড জ্বরের চিকিৎসায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি ব্যাকটেরিয়ার রাইবোজোমে ৫০এস উপাদানের সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে প্রোটিন সংশ্লেষণ রোধ করে, যা গ্রাম-পজিটিভ ও নেগেটিভ উভয় ব্যাকটেরিয়ার বিরুদ্ধে কার্যকর।

প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের ডোজ হিসেবে ৩ দিনে ৫০০ মিগ্রা বা ৫ দিনের কোর্সে ৫০০ মিগ্রা শুরু করে সেবন করতে হয়। শিশুদের (৬ মাস+) ওজন অনুযায়ী ২০০-৫০০ মিগ্রা ডোজ নির্ধারিত হয়। টাইফয়েডের ক্ষেত্রে ৭-১০ দিন চিকিৎসার প্রয়োজন।

এন্টাসিডের সাথে শোষণ কমে যেতে পারে। আরগোট এলকালয়েড বা সাইক্লোস্পোরিন ব্যবহারকারীদের সতর্কতা প্রয়োজন। পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়ায় বমি, মাথাব্যথা বা ডায়রিয়া হতে পারে। গর্ভাবস্থায় ‘বি’ শ্রেণীর ঔষধ হিসাবে সতর্কতার সাথে ব্যবহার করুন।

শিশুদের নাগালের বাইরে শুষ্ক ও অন্ধকার জায়গায় সংরক্ষণ করুন। ঔষধের মেয়াদ শেষ হওয়ার পর অবশিষ্ট ট্যাবলেট ফেলে দিন এবং চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ ছাড়া ডোজ পরিবর্তন এড়িয়ে চলুন।

Adults: 500 mg for 3 days or 500+250 mg for 5 days. Pediatric (15-25 kg): 10 mg/kg/day for 3 days. Administer 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Typhoid fever requires 7-10 day treatment. Dose adjustment needed in renal impairment.

Abacten is well tolerated with a low incidence of side-effects. Most side-effects observed were mild to moderate in severity. The majority of side-effects were gastrointestinal in origin with nauseas, abdominal discomfort (pain/cramps), vomiting, flatulence, diarrhoea and loose stools being occasionally observed. Allergic reactions such as rash or photosensitivity have occurred and there have also been rare reports of serious hypersensitivity reactions. Reversible elevations in liver transaminases have been seen with a frequency similar to the comparative macrolides and penicillins used in clinical trials. Rarely, cases of cholestatic jaundice have been observed. Transient mild reductions in neutrofil counts have occasionally been observed in clinical trials, although a causal relationship to azithromycin has not been established. Hearing impairment: In investigational studies where higher doses were used for prolonged periods of time, reversible hearing impairment was seen in some patients.

Pregnancy Category B – use only if clearly needed. Breastfeeding safety not established.

Monitor for fungal superinfections. Renal patients need serum monitoring. Discontinue if persistent diarrhea occurs.

Pediatric dosing by weight. Contraindicated in hepatic failure. No adjustment needed in elderly with normal renal function.

There is no data on overdosage with Abacten. Typical symptoms of overdosage with macrolide antibiotics include hearing loss, severe nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Gastric lavage and general supportive measures are indicated.
