এবেটিস প্লাস হলো এসিআই লিমিটেড প্রস্তুতকৃত একটি কম্বিনেশন এন্টিহাইপারটেনসিভ ঔষধ, যাতে ওলমেসারটান মেডােক্সোমিল (৪০ মি.গ্রা.) ও হাইড্রোক্লোরােথায়াজাইড (১২.৫ মি.গ্রা.) রয়েছে। এই ট্যাবলেট উচ্চ রক্তচাপ নিয়ন্ত্রণে দ্বৈত প্রক্রিয়ায় কাজ করে। প্রতি স্ট্রিপে ১০টি ট্যাবলেট রয়েছে, মূল্য ৳১৮০।

ওলমেসারটান রক্তনালীর সংকোচন রোধ করে, আর হাইড্রোক্লোরােথায়াজাইড শরীরের অতিরিক্ত পানি ও লবণ বের করে দেয়। প্রাথমিক ডোজ হিসেবে দিনে এক ট্যাবলেট সেবন করতে হয়। রক্তচাপ নিয়ন্ত্রণ না হলে ২-৪ সপ্তাহ পর ডোজ বাড়ানো যেতে পারে।

ঔষধটি শুষ্ক ও ঠান্ডা স্থানে আলো থেকে দূরে রাখুন। সাধারণ পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়ার মধ্যে মাথাব্যথা, বমিভাব ও ইউরিক অ্যাসিড বৃদ্ধি অন্তর্ভুক্ত। গর্ভাবস্থায় ব্যবহার নিষিদ্ধ। বিকল্প হিসেবে দেখুন ওলমেসারটান মেডােক্সোমিল + হাইড্রোক্লোরােথায়াজাইড জেনেরিক্স।

Dosage & Administration

Adults: Initial dose 20/12.5 mg once daily. May increase to 40/25 mg after 2-4 weeks. Can be taken with/without food. Continue therapy until blood pressure control achieved.

Side Effects

The common side-effects are nausea, headache, dizziness, hyperuricemia, upper respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection. Other adverse effects are chest pain, back pain, peripheral edema, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, gastroenteritis, diarrhea.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Contraindicated in 2nd/3rd trimesters. Avoid during lactation. Consider alternative therapies in pregnancy.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor BP, electrolytes and renal function regularly. Store protected from light. Dose adjustment needed in hepatic impairment.

Use in Special Populations

Renal impairment (GFR <30 mL/min): Contraindicated. Not for pediatric use. Titrate dose cautiously in elderly.

Overdose Effects

Olmesartan: Limited data are available in regard to overdosage in humans. The most likely manifestation of overdosage would be hypotension and tachycardia. Supportive treatment should be instituted.

Hydrochlorothiazide: The most common signs and symptoms observed are those caused by electrolyte depletion (hypokalemia, hypochloremia, and dehydration) resulting from excessive diuresis. If digitalis has also been administered, hypokalemia may accentuate cardiac arrhythmias.
