এবিক্সল সিরাপ হলো ইবনে সিনা ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস লিমিটেডের তৈরী গুয়াইফেনেসিন (২০০ মি.গ্রা.), ডেক্সট্রোমিথরফেন (১৫ মি.গ্রা.) ও মেনথল (১৫ মি.গ্রা.) সমৃদ্ধ একটি ট্রিপল-অ্যাকশন কাশি নাশক সিরাপ। প্রতি ১০০ মিলি বোতলের দাম ৳৮৫.০০। এটি বুকের কফ, শুষ্ক কাশি ও গলা ব্যথায় কার্যকরী সমাধান প্রদান করে।

এই মাল্টি-কম্পোনেন্ট কম্বাইন্ড কাফ এক্সপেক্টোরেন্ট সেবনে গুয়াইফেনেসিন কফ তরলীকরণ, ডেক্সট্রোমিথরফেন কাশি রিফ্লেক্স নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং মেনথল গলা শীতলীকরণে কাজ করে। পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া হিসেবে ৩% ব্যবহারকারীর মধ্যে হালকা মাথাঘোরা দেখা যেতে পারে।

ডোজ নির্দেশনা: প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের (১২+ বছর) ক্ষেত্রে ২ চা-চামচ (১০ মিলি) ৬ ঘন্টা পরপর। সর্বোচ্চ ৪০ মিলি/দিন। ইবনে সিনা ফার্মার GMP সনদপ্রাপ্ত ইউনিটে উৎপাদিত এই সিরাপ ৩০°C এর নিচে শুষ্ক স্থানে সংরক্ষণ করুন।

Dosage & Administration

Adults (12+ years): 10 ml (2 tsp) every 6 hours. Max 40 ml/day. Not for children <12 years. Administer with/without food. Do not exceed 7 days without medical supervision.

Side Effects

Common side effects are dizziness, drowsiness, gastrointestinal disturbance, feeling nervous, restless, anxious or irritable.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category C. Contraindicated in lactation. Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies risk.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor vital signs in asthma, hepatic disease or antidepressant users. Avoid driving until cognitive effects are known. Regular respiratory monitoring advised.

Use in Special Populations

Elderly may require dose reduction. Adjust dose in hepatic/renal impairment. Pediatric use contraindicated. Limited pregnancy data available.

Overdose Effects

Overdose with Guaifenesin is unlikely to produce toxic effect since its toxicity is low. In severe cases of overdose, treatment should be aimed at reducing further absorption of the drug. Gastric emptying is recommended as soon as possible after ingestion. Overdose with Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide may produce excitement and mental confusion. Very high doses may produce respiratory depression. One case of toxic psychosis after ingestion of a single 300 mg dose of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide has been reported. Menthol can be harmful in large amounts. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrheoa, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, rapid breathing etc.
