ABZ চিউয়েবল ট্যাবলেট হলো এ্যালবেনডাজল (৪০০ মিগ্রা) সমৃদ্ধ একটি কৃমিনাশক ঔষধ। আল-মদিনা ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস প্রস্তুতকৃত এই চিবানো ট্যাবলেটের ইউনিট মূল্য মাত্র ৳৪.০০ (৫x১০ স্ট্রিপ: ৳২০০)। হুকওয়ার্ম, ফিতা কৃমি, গোলকৃমিসহ নানা পরজীবী সংক্রমণের চিকিৎসায় এটি ব্যাপকভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

ঔষধটি পরজীবীর টিউবিউলিন পলিমারাইজেশন বাধাদান করে গ্লুকোজ শোষণে বিঘ্ন ঘটায়। চিউয়েবল ট্যাবলেট ফর্মুলেশন শিশুদের জন্য সহজে সেবনে উপযোগী। প্রধান বিপাকীয় উপাদান সালফোক্সাইডের প্লাজমা হাফ-লাইফ প্রায় ৮.৫ ঘণ্টা, যা দীর্ঘমেয়াদি কার্যকারিতা নিশ্চিত করে।

গর্ভাবস্থায় সতর্কতার সাথে ব্যবহার জরুরি (ইউএস এফডিএ ক্যাটাগরি সি)। পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়ায় পেটব্যথা, মাথাঘোরা বা লিভার এনজাইম পরিবর্তন দেখা দিতে পারে। আলো ও তাপ থেকে দূরে শুষ্ক স্থানে সংরক্ষণ করুন। শিশুদের নাগালের বাইরে রাখুন।

Dosage & Administration

Adults & children >2yrs: 400mg single dose. Hydatid: >60kg: 400mg BD for 28 days. Pediatric (1-2yrs): 200mg. Contraindicated in pregnancy. Administer with food. Hepatic impairment requires dose adjustment.

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, changes in liver enzymes, rarely reversible alopecia; rash, fever, blood disorders including leucopenia and pancytopenia reported; allergic shock if cyst leakage; convulsion and meningism in cerebral disease.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category C. 2% excreted in breast milk. Teratogenic risk in 1st trimester. Contraindicated during lactation.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor LFTs and CBC pre/post therapy. Neutropenia requires immediate attention. Neurologic symptoms need MRI evaluation. Assess tolerance to Albendazole metabolites.

Use in Special Populations

Pediatric (1-2yrs): 200mg single dose. Reduce dose in hepatic impairment. No renal dose adjustment needed. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
