Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 tablet twice daily (morning & evening) with water after meals. Do not adjust dose without medical advice. Renal impairment requires dose adjustment. Recommended for 6-12 months in osteoporosis treatment. Tablets should not be chewed.

Side Effects

The use of calcium supplements has rarely given rise to mild gastro-intestinal disturbances such as constipation, flatulence, nausea, gastric pain, diarrhea. Following administration of vitamin-D3 supplements occasional skin rash has been reported. Hypercalciuria and in rare cases hypercalcaemia have been seen with long term treatment at high doses.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Use during pregnancy only under medical supervision. Excess calcium may harm fetus. Components may pass into breastmilk during lactation—dose monitoring essential.

Precautions & Warnings

Monitor blood/urine parameters during long-term use. Do not crush or chew tablets. Renal patients should monitor serum calcium/creatinine. Avoid concurrent vitamin D3 supplements.

Use in Special Populations

Elderly may require dose reduction based on renal function. Pediatric safety not established. In renal failure, limit calcium to ≤500mg/day. Liver impairment may affect vitamin D3 metabolism.

Overdose Effects

Symptoms of overdosage may include nausea and vomiting, severe drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, stomach cramps, diarrhea, headache & constipation.
