Acitrin-L Tablet 5 mg

Acitrin-L is a potent antihistamine tablet containing 5 mg Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride, manufactured by ACI Limited. This non-sedating formula treats allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, and seasonal allergies with once-daily dosing.

As an upgraded version of cetirizine, Levocetirizine binds twice as effectively to H1 receptors. Suitable for ages 6 months+, it shows rapid action within 1 hour and lasts 24 hours. Patients with renal impairment require adjusted doses, while dialysis patients should avoid it.

Dosage guidelines:

• Adults: 5 mg daily
• Children (6-11 years): 2.5 mg/day
• Infants (6mo-5yrs): 1.25 mg oral solution

Common side effects include dry mouth (2.5%) and headache (1.8%). Pregnant women (Category B) and breastfeeding mothers should use caution. Store below 30°C in original packaging to maintain efficacy.

Monitor seizure patients closely. Dose adjustment needed in renal/hepatic impairment. Regular follow-up for elderly patients advised.

Pediatric: Age-specific dosing required. Geriatric: Consider renal function. Renal impairment: Dose adjustment based on CrCl mandatory.

No clinically relevant adverse events have been reported in case of overdose. However in the event of overdosage, symptomatic and supportive treatment is recommended.
