This anti-emetic tablet effectively prevents and treats nausea/vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery. The tablet works by blocking serotonin receptors in both peripheral and central nervous systems. Its pharmacological action helps suppress vomiting reflexes triggered by cancer treatments. Chemotherapy: Adults 8 mg tablet three times daily (max 16 mg/dose). Pediatrics (6 months-18 years) 0.15 mg/kg. Radiotherapy: 8 mg tablet 1-2 hrs before and every 8 hrs for 5 days post-treatment. Postoperative: 16 mg single dose. Hepatic impairment: Max 8 mg/dose.

Frequently reported adverse events were headache, constipation and diarrhea, but the majority have been mild or moderate in nature. In chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, rash has occurred in approximately 1% of patients receiving Emeren. There also have been reports to a sensation of flushing or warmth, hiccups and liver enzyme abnormalities. Rare cases of anaphylaxis, brochospasm, tachycardia, angina (chest pain), hypokalemia, shortness of breath have also been reported, except for bronchospasm and anaphylaxis, the relationship to Emeren is unclear. There have been no evidence to extrapyramidal reactions, in rare case oculogyric crisis appearing alone, as well as with other dystonic reactions without definitive clinical evidence. In case of PONV, with the exception of headache, rates of these events were not significantly different in the Emeren and placebo groups.

Pregnancy Category B. Use only if clearly needed. Caution in lactation. Excreted in rodent milk; human data limited.

Monitor ECG in cardiac patients. Adjust dose in hepatic impairment. Avoid in gastrointestinal obstruction. Hypersensitivity history requires discontinuation.

Pediatrics (under 4): Limited data. Geriatric: No adjustment. Renal impairment: Standard dose. Hepatic impairment: Max 8 mg/dose.
