Description

Sefalor Capsule, containing Cefaclor Monohydrate 500 mg, is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic manufactured by Techno Drugs Ltd. Priced at ৳37.17 per unit (strip: ৳223.00), it treats bacterial infections like pneumonia, otitis media, and UTIs. The capsule form ensures precise dosing, with adults taking 250-500 mg every 8 hours.

This antibiotic targets Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including ampicillin-resistant strains. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against respiratory, ear, and skin infections. Patients with renal impairment require no dose adjustment, but hemodialysis patients need modified dosing. Always complete the full course to prevent resistance.

Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Rarely, it may cause hepatitis or blood disorders. Avoid concurrent use with anticoagulants like warfarin due to interaction risks. Pregnant/nursing women should consult doctors before use. Store at room temperature, away from light, and refrigerate reconstituted suspensions.
